How long does it take to send cryptocurrency?
Any crypto transaction needs the network approval to be successfully completed.
The time varies depending on many factors. The main ones are:
- Network congestion at the time you initiate your transfer.
The more transactions the network needs to process, the longer each one takes.
- Transaction fees.
Miners prioritize transactions by the fee they receive for confirming them. If the fee is high enough, transactions can be processed quicker.

Six standard confirmations have been set up by the Bitcoin community. Different exchanges require different numbers of block confirmations before they’re considered final. For Bitcoin it takes from 2 minutes to 4-6 hours in extreme cases, and for Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ripple, USDC, and USDT – from 15 seconds.
